ABOUT US
Arbroath Voices is an amazing project which connected us, Esol (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students from Dundee and Angus College, for an incredible 'adventure'.
We are 5 students from Esol 3 group and 3 students from Esol 2.
We would like to show YOU Arbroath Town from different perspectives. Arbroath life, culture and local people.

Linda Archibald
Dundee and Angus College (Arbroath Campus)
The students have amazing talents and through this project I want them to meet inspiring people who will show them that anything is possible.

Alfie Dickson
My name is Alfie Dickson, I have been asked by the Students from the ESOL to do a small introduction as to how this project Arbroath Voices came about, first of all, this all started, one Sunday at my church St Andrews in Arbroath Martin Fair [minister] asked the congregation if anyone could volunteer a couple of hours each week to help the for foreign Students at Dundee and Angus college to improve their English speaking, and as I'm retired, I volunteered. That was a few years ago now, and since then their lecturer, Linda Archibald has encouraged us volunteers to try and introduce the students to some of the culture and lifestyles of Scotland and Arbroath in particular. So far we have organized, Burns suppers, Scottish country Dancing, etc., which has all come in handy at their Christmas parties. People from all types of organizations in Arbroath have helped, including a Scottish Country dancing club and a local primary school.
So our next venture was to do something challenging, something the Students have never done before, that was the birth of Arbroath voices. This film is the students' interpretation of every day life in the working community of Arbroath. I hope you will appreciate the time and effort these Students have put into this project, as they have never had any experience of this type of work, so we must try to understand the courage of the Students to even take on this venture. We hope you all will enjoy this film, I would like to in advance thank all the Arbroath people for giving up their working time to help explain certain thing, and also all who took part in the interviews.
